Behind every successful mission is a foundation of thoughtful analysis, reliable data, and the tools that help engineers evaluate complex scenarios before decisions are made.
This summer, Avi Waghray joined Vantor's Modeling and Simulation team, where he's supporting the development and enhancement of modeling and simulation capabilities used to evaluate mission scenarios, system performance, and architecture trade studies. Through his work, Avi is gaining hands-on experience while contributing to technical solutions that support customers' evolving mission needs.
Working with Bill Garrahan, Manager of Aerospace Programs, Avi is helping improve technical development, testing, analysis workflows, and reusable modeling capabilities that strengthen the team's ability to deliver consistent, high-quality analysis.
Avi's value to the team goes beyond the work itself. He has been a dependable and thoughtful contributor who approaches technical problems with curiosity, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. Avi demonstrated strong collaboration skills, responsiveness to feedback, and potential to take on increasingly complex modeling and simulation responsibilities.

Avi is pursuing a degree in Aerospace Engineering at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach and is expected to graduate in Spring 2027.
He was drawn to Vantor because of the company's work in spatial intelligence and the opportunity to experience that environment firsthand. “I was attracted to Vantor by the high level of work conducted in spatial intelligence and wanted to experience it for myself,” Avi said.
Throughout the summer, Avi has enjoyed challenging himself with new technical problems, expanding his skillset, and collaborating with experienced engineers. “I am excited to challenge myself with new problems, expand my skillset, and meet new people over the summer,” he said.
Outside of engineering, Avi has been playing the trumpet for nearly 10 years and spent the summer of 2022 marching with The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps.
Supporting Better Decisions
Modeling and simulation play an important role in helping engineers evaluate mission concepts, analyze system performance, and make informed technical decisions.
By contributing to these capabilities, Avi is helping strengthen the tools that support faster, more consistent, and more defensible analysis for customers while gaining valuable experience that will help prepare him for the next stage of his engineering career.
His internship reflects Vantor's commitment to developing future talent by providing students with opportunities to contribute to meaningful work, collaborate with experienced professionals, and solve real-world engineering challenges.
